Remsen St. Mary’s sings “Christmas Classics”
Preschool through sixth grade students presented a collection of holiday songs at the Lorne Nilles Memorial Gym on Wednesday, December 5th. Throughout the night there were sounds of voices of many ages as well as the fifth and sixth grade bands, and multiple elementary music classroom instruments. The concert opened with all the students singing “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” and concluded with a fun and exciting version of “The Twelve Days of Christmas” sung by the TK through sixth grade. Other songs throughout the concert included “Away in a Manger” sung by second graders using handbells, “Frosty the Snowman” sung by TK-first grade, “Silent Night” by the fifth and sixth grade bands together, “Holly Jolly Christmas” sung by the third and fourth grade, and “Jingle Bells” sung by Preschool and their own sleigh bells. The students worked very hard to prepare their songs the last two months and brought their hard work, energy and laughter to the evening’s performance. The students will continue their hard work, wonderful voices, and experience with classroom instruments as they prepare for their spring concert on Wednesday, April 24th.
