Deacon Rick Roder speaks at the traditional official school opening prayer service at the Grotto of Lourdes. Scripture reading along with prayer offered by Father McCarthy were included in the service. Preschool through grade twelve principal, Jeff Burkey, spoke, along with introducing the new students to RSM.
Two lucky students were chosen for the traditional ringing of school bell to set off the school year. The U.S. flag was raised and students, faculty/staff, parents and grandparents in attendance joined in for the daily pledge of allegiance. The RSM school song, led by music director, Steph Niewohner, followed the pledge to conclude the opening school ceremony.
