Glowing results for first-ever GLOW Walk

By: Megan Sabin Around 90 people participated in the first ever GLOW Walk, which took place on Sunday evening, June 19 at around 8:45 p.m. As a Kick-Off Event for Kids Days, both events being sponsored by the Remsen Chamber, the GLOW Walk offered a chance for family and friends to have some fun together while getting a good walk in around the Walking Trail. Though it did not quite get dark enough to get the full effect of the glow items, fun was still had by all. At the Walk, children and adults could sign-up for a drawing, of which several prizes were handed out to participants. The following were the winners of those prizes: Kids Prizes: Kids Day Tickets - Breanna Sheehan, Amaya Gengler, Levi Hoffman, Josh Armfield. Baseball Print - Megan Roling. $5 gift certificate to Burger Barn - Tessa Bohnenkamp. $5 coupon to BINGO at Kids Days - Gracyn Schroeder. Glow Party Set- Keaton Sheehan. Ice Cream Cone at Burger Barn - Connor Galles, Jayze Bunkers, Beau Johnson, Savannah Sheehan, Presley Daum, Alex Armfield, Mitch Roling, London Loutsch, Trenton Sheehan, Lucas Sheehan. Adult Prizes: $25 gift certificate to Golden Pheasant - Cheri Daum. $10 gift certificate to Three Sisters Bistro - Dan Sheehan, Baily Schroeder. Large Pizza of Choice from Mrs. B's - Kay Bohnenkamp, Rochelle Tentinger, Lance Pierce. $5 gift certificate to Three Sisters' Bistro - Kim Spaar, Stacey Pick, Tom Bacan, Rick Schroeder, Cheri Nitzschke. $5 coupon to BINGO at Kids Days - Peg Arens. Donations for the GLOW Walk from area businesses included: American Bank, Burger Barn, City of Remsen, Feeck Crop/Krier Insurance, Floyd Valley Healthcare, Iowa State Bank, Leanne's Styles & More, Matgen Insurance, Mid-Sioux Opportunity, Inc., Mrs. B's, Remsen Public Library, Smith Insurance, Three Sisters' Bistro, WesTel Systems. Businesses that had tables set up at the GLOW Walk , handing out various glow items, included: Floyd Valley Healthcare (glow bracelets), Remsen Public Library (glow tattoos, glow necklaces), Burger Barn (refreshments), Iowa State Bank (flashlights), and American Bank (ice cream). The Remsen Chamber wishes to thank everyone who helped and participated in this first-time event.
