No New York Vanilla for Rudy

Le Mars had a chance to hear from the man with the golden tongue this week.
That man being Rudy Giuliani, a Republican candidate for president in the 2008 race. And his tongue being golden since he's been known to charge $100,000 for speaking engagements.
And to be honest, he was an excellent speaker. Of all the presidential candidates I've heard that have rolled through the Ice Cream Capital of the World, his speech was probably the most enjoyable.
I do wonder how he plans to "end illegal immigration" entirely. That is one of his "12 Commitments" to the American people, should he be elected. Apparently he wanted to two-up God and His ten rules to go by. While Rudy's can cite his stint leading New York to point to his capability in getting things done, some of his promises do seem quite lofty. And his "moderate" Republican views may be tough to rally party-liners around.
But finally, the question you've all been waiting for: Did that golden tongue of his touch the stuff Le Mars is famous for?
Yes.
Just before his speech at the Family Table, Giuliani's people called up the Blue Bunny Ice Cream parlor with a five-minute warning that the former New York Mayor was going to stop by for scoop.
He ordered White Chocolate Caramel Cluster. |
