My name is Andreas Lenz and I'm from Hamburg, Germany. I was a foreign exchange student at Le Mars Community High School in 2004. I do not exactly know why but for some reason the moment my feet touched Iowa soil for the first time was life-changing for me. I instantly fell in love with the cornfields, the hog smell, and, of course, the people of Plymouth County. My yearly visit to the States is by far the most joyful time of the year for me. After graduating from the University of Hamburg next summer I hope to find a way to move to Iowa for good. Yepp, that's how much I love the Hawkeye State. I am a diehard Hawkeyes fan and I do not mind UNI. Don't ask me about Iowa State though. I get mad at people who talk badly about Iowa, especially if they've never been here before. There is a lot more to this state than people think. With this blog I'll try to share my thoughts and observations with you. So if you're interested in a German viewpoint on Iowa related issues bear with me.
