Government website encourages welfare

Posted Sunday, December 30, 2012, at 3:20 PM

The number of government dependents now exceeds the number of private sector workers in California, New York, Illinois, Ohio, Maine, Kentucky, South Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama, New Mexico and Hawaii. Seven of those states were won by Barack Obama.

In California, there are 139 "takers" for every 100 private sector workers. The American people have become absolutely addicted to government money, and it gets worse with each passing year. Entitlements accounted for 62% of all federal spending in fiscal year 2012!

For example, the number of Americans on food stamps grew from about 17 million in 2000 to more than 47 million today.

The federal government runs nearly 80 different means-tested welfare programs and more than 100 million Americans (not even including Social Security or Medicare)are already enrolled in at least one of those programs, and they are looking for more!

The Feds even have a website (benefits.gov) to help people figure out what welfare programs they can take advantage of. Many, of course, are deserving. Many are not.

Today, there are 57 million Americans on Social Security, but there are only 95 million full-time private sector workers to support the fund.

It is a slippery slope we are handing our future generations.

That slippery slope may be impossible to get back up one day! I would like to share this quote by Adrain Rogers

The 5 Truths

1) You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.

2) What 1 person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.

3) The govt. cannot give to anybody anything the govt. doesn't first take from someone else.

4) You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.

5) When 1/2 the people get the idea that they don't have to work cause the other 1/2 is going to take care of them, & when the other 1/2 gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that's the beginning of the end of any nation.
