A memoryPosted Sunday, May 17, 2009, at 3:17 PM
A trip down memory lane can put a smile on your face, a tear in your eye or even bring your blood to a boil.
This memory is one that makes me smile and be thankful for the little things. I had a great childhood, I love remembering the countless miles and trips across country with Dad across country. I learned about the country and my ABC's the real way. I met such a variety of people. I learned odd and unusual talents and topics, sometimes just out of opportunity. One evening for instance we had stopped at a department store in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and we shopped the hair styling aisle because I think Dad was tired of seeing the hair in my face and me peeking through the strands. As a child I ran a bit high strung and by the end of the day was a bit of a ragamuffin, much like now! While shopping Dad would get me a something - a toy, art pencils, drawing pad, something educational... Well, this time it was a Barbie Doll to add to my collection. Her face was like Cher's but the top of her head was loose and it could be spun to be a blond or a brunette. I didn't like her hair. It was rough and stuck out. I sat across the truck continuing to try to fiddle with it to make it smooth. As the moments passed we cruised on toward Amarillo. [Over the road drivers have time deadlines. They need to log their time legally for the for the DOT. They need to get going to get to the next load pickup and get it home] Thant night my daddy pulled the rig and trailer over and taught me to braid that Barbie Doll's hair. |
My name is Angel. I have come here to help you maneuver the website and introduce you to any new features we will have for you.
Once in awhile I will blog about a topic or two or let you into my world.
I don't have any children, but I do have nieces and nephews I can brag about.
I rarely do anything exciting but work. BUT for those of you who have worked with me you know a day of work can be like a trip to the carnival!
Angel out...
