Are you a weather junkie?Posted Thursday, June 12, 2008, at 4:54 PM
I awoke Thursday morning to a hue of yellow filtering through the window shade. I wandered around half asleep, noticing once in awhile this strange light coming through all of the shades. I figured it was just me and I was tired. When I opened the garage door a short while later, the blast of yellow that poured into the garage was eerie. This was something I do not ever remember seeing before. I stepped from the garage and gazed up at what looked to be the softest clouds, nearly perfect, round, balls of fluff. Seemed as if I could pluck one from the sky.
I soon found out from a friend who is a weather junkie, these were called mammatus clouds. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en... They indicated turbulence in the atmosphere. Has anyone else seen these type of clouds around here lately? Are you a weather watcher? ARE you a meteorological junkie? We would love to read the blogs of a weather obsessed being. We invite you to join our local bloggers to share your knowledge and weather experience. If you are interested email me dswebeditor@frontiernet.net |

Once in awhile I will blog about a topic or two or let you into my world.

I rarely do anything exciting but work. BUT for those of you who have worked with me you know a day of work can be like a trip to the carnival!
