As of last Monday, baseball and softball seasons are officially underway.

And to most Americans, that signifies the beginning of summer.

But at Friday night's Lady Bulldog softball game in Le Mars, I wasn't so sure summer had begun.

Apparantly, others were questioning that as well.

Shivering and hating the random bouts of misty rain, trying to keep my hands warm as I snapped pictures through the fence, I was a little concerned about the girls on the field in their sleeve-less uniforms.

I heard one of the JV girls sitting behind me say, "It's supposed to be summer!"

I turned to look at the group of girls huddled together under a couple fleece-y blankets, trying to stay warm.

And one thought crossed my mind, "And Al Gore is worried about global WARMING."

Hmmm...
