After taking an early lead, the Raiders trailed for most of the championship game against the top seed Ozarks.

But...

With about five minutes to play, the Raiders made a run to regain the lead.

And they maintained that lead.

And Ozarks fouled Deb Remmerde. Who missed only one free throw in the entire tournament.

So a pair of free throws from Remmerde, add a pair from Mandy Carr and a sweet jumper by Deb, and there you have it.

An 82-75 victory.

And the national title.

For only the second time ever, the first being in 2001, the Northwestern women's basketball team won the national championship.

All I can say is, I am so proud of the girls in my class for all they accomplished. They definitely deserved this win. Congrats!
