Wow, good thing I'm a sports editor and don't get paid to predict sports because I was way off on my NCAA men's picks. I had a 50% chance in each game and lost - TWICE! Good thing I wasn't in Las Vegas or at the Argosy in Sioux City because Saturday night would not have been a pretty one. Unfortunately, I did not get to watch much of the games. I missed the UCLA-Memphis match-up because I was at my girlfriend's softball game instead (they won, in case you were wondering). I caught the second half of the Kansas-UNC match-up and was surprised to hear that Kansas held a 33-11 advantage at one point. Apparently Kevin Love and Pyscho T (Tyler Hansbrough) didn't get my memo about them meeting in the finals. Maybe if I had put a cover letter on my TPS reports, those two would have gotten my memo. (A little "Office Space" humor for you movie geeks.) Anyway, congratulations to Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks. Most people picked you as the most vulnerable #1 but you pulled through. The real test will be trying to repeat when you lose most of your starting line-up and your coach. To add insult to injury, if Self leaves, he'll most likely end up at Oklahoma State where you will have to Rock Chalk Jayhawk past him and his Cowboys sometime during the season. Enjoy.

The Cubs are finally starting to look like they might have their act together but it's still too early to tell. I just ordered a keyboard that has a "Panic!" button on it so maybe I'll keep that in the closet until July rolls around and the Loveable Losers are playing mostly road contests. A quick look at the Major League Baseball standings says that maybe some teams won't be as bad as people predicted and some might be overrated. The Detroit Tigers, labeled as true title contenders, are sporting a perfect 0-7 record. Consistency is the key! Good thing you spent all that money, the Kansas City Royals and Chicago White Sox appreciate it.

The Baltimore Orioles and Florida Marlins are also leading their divisions. Some people predicted the Orioles to compete with the Giants as the worst team in baseball. The Giants are defying destiny by holding a one-game advantage over the Tigers for the worst record in baseball with their 1-6 record. Maybe the Giants should have kept Barry Bonds. He could have at least pumped up the crowd while he was allegedly pumping up himself.

Anyway, did anyone check out that Dustin Carter video on Youtube yet? It's had 171,702 hits and I'm pretty sure that I've had close to nine of them. Do yourself a favor and check it out. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
