Time does fly. Sometimes I would like to catch it by the tail and slow it down, but of course we can't do that.

As I look back, I'm pleased with the contributions I've made to the newsroom and the experiences I've gained, especially in photography.

I hadn't really taken many professional photographs before coming here, which you may be able to tell, but my skills are improving.

So I think it's safe to say that I'm learning more each day, and I hope sharing a bit of my knowledge and experience with my colleagues.

But I'm also struggling in some areas like finding ideas for stories that you, the reader, want. That is always the case for the "New Kid on the Block" at least in my experience. It's tough because I don't yet know the area well or have as many connections.

But I'm not afraid to ask for help.
