Embarassment 101

Do you ever have those days, weeks, hours when you realize you should have just stayed in bed?
This week has been that way for me and it's only Tuesday!
But anyway let me tell you my story...
Today (Tuesday) I actually leave the office at 5 so I can get home and enjoy a nice walk. So as I'm leaving I'm thinking of the outdoors and how great the sun feels on my face.
Driving home I'm checking my voice mails... it's nice to have messages sometimes.
I pulled into my parking lot still in my quiet, peaceful world until BAM! I get out of the car and my horn starts blaring. If you were in the neighborhood, yes that was me. Now you may be thinking just hit the button and it will go off. Not so much as I don't have a panic button for my car.
Luckily or not so lucky depending on how you look at it, my car had done this once before in front of the office so I knew just how to fix it. I grabbed the wrench borrowed from the office (Thank goodness I had forgotten to return it.) And I proceeded to loosen the battery cable to reset the horn. Finally, peace again. And I'm proud of myself for getting the noise to stop.
But the fun doesn't stop there. I go to open my car door to put the wrench away only to realize my keys are in the locked car. First I start to panic as my phone is in there too and I don't really know my neighbors. Then I reach into my pocket and find my apartment keys, what a relief.
Back at the car with my spare key I'm afraid to open the door as it may set the horn off again. It didn't thankfully.
Finally, 20 minutes later I'm ready for my walk. So I start out down the side streets like usual and then decide to stroll along Central Avenue. Now I'm back in my peaceful world (sweating and puffing), but enjoying the day.
Once again BAM! I'm brought back to reality when I trip on the sidewalk and go into a sprawl trying to regain my balance. If you were driving by and saw someone picking themselves up, yes that was me.
Limping back home after my now short walk I started thinking that maybe I should just lock myself in a padded room.
So that's my story... hopefully the rest of the week will be peaceful.
But I'm not betting on it! Comments Showing most recent comments first [Show in chronological order instead] |

See, now this is me everyday, just as soon as they let me out of my padded room, i injure myself on something that no one else would ever run into or trip over!
